South Haven Fire Department is proud to announce our new partnership with Porter Regional Hospital.
On March 20th South Haven Fire Department's EMS division started operating under the Porter EMS System and Medical Director, Dr. David Cummins MD. Dr. Cummins, a former firefighter/paramedic from the region, now oversees EMS for several departments in the area.
We are excited to have new and innovative Advanced Life Support treatment protocols to better serve our community.
Dr. Cummins and the Porter System allows us to take a more proactive approach to patient care. They have implemented the most advanced treatment options available for pre-hospital emergency medicine.
Our Paramedics and EMTs are confident that these new patient care protocols will increase the comfort and overall well-being of the people we serve. South Haven EMS will continue to be sponsored by the St. Mary's EMS system as we have been for the past five years. St. Mary's EMS administrative staff have played an important role in our success as an EMS service and EMS training site. They have an outstanding EMS education program that we are honored to remain a part of.
