Amhurst Asylum: The Most Deranged Haunted Attraction to Hit the Midwest - Friday - Sunday, Valparaiso
Dubbed by the locals as The Amhurst Asylum, the building has now been abandoned for decades and Dr. Amhurst was never found. Throughout the years many have tried to break into the old Amhurst Asylum, attempting to see if any remnants were left behind, testing the myth. Many who enter the Amhurst Asylum mysteriously disappear. Do you have what it takes to survive The Amhurst Asylum?!

Trick or Treat Downtown – Kick Things Off at the Duneland Chamber of Commerce - Friday, Chesterton
Downtown businesses will be offering trick or treating for Duneland families this year on Friday, October 27, from 4-6pm. Parents and their children should look for purple flyers in the windows of participating businesses along Indian Boundary, Calumet and Broadway in Chesterton. The Duneland Chamber will be handing out bags of goodies along with other local business in the chamber parking lot as well.

City of Portage Trunk-or-Treat - Friday, Portage
The City of Portage, will be hosting their Trunk-or-Treat Event Friday, October 27, at Founders Square from 5pm - 8pm. Any business or organization who would like to participate may participate for free! All you need to do Is fill out an application, decorate either your car or a 10 X 10 "booth" space (you'll need to provide any tables/tents you may want to use), and bring plenty of store-bought candy or goodies to give away that night

Garwood Orchard 2017 U-Pick Rush for the Gold Weekend - Saturday - Sunday, La Porte
Come out 10/28-10/29 for Rush for the Gold Weekend for a chance to win great prizes and pick some delicious apples. Bring the family and take in the fall atmosphere!

Chicago Street Theater - Last Weekend to See Hair! Friday - Sunday, Valparaiso
Audiences can celebrate "Rocktober" and expect to do a little time traveling back to the 60's as Chicago Street Theatre honors the 50th Anniversary of the rock musical HAIR. While this is a departure from the theatre group's usual Halloween fare, the group is excited to bring one of Broadway's most celebrated productions to its stage. This is the final weekend to see it!

Whiting Halloween Costume Parade 2017 - Saturday, Whiting
The City of Whiting's annual Halloween Costume Parade will take place on Saturday, October 28, 2017! Parade lineup is at 1pm at 119th Street & New York Ave. alongside the Chase Bank parking lot. The parade will kick off at 1:30pm. Marchers will proceed west on 119th Street, and then south on Clark Street to the Whiting Family YMCA where goodie bags will be given to the children. Looking forward to seeing you there in your best costume!

Halloween Party at the Blue Chip Casino - Saturday, Michigan City
Doors open at 9:00pm with Cash Bar, DJ and Photo Booth, and the party continues until 2:00am. Costume Contest judging will be based off audience applause with panel of judges having the final say.Must be 21 years of age or older with a valid state or government issued photo ID. Must register for costume contest prior to 10:30pm. One prize per person. Las Vegas Trip includes $600 airfare voucher and a 3-night hotel stay at the Orleans Casino. Hannah's Hope Halloween Bash - Saturday, Portage
ITS TIME TO BE A KID AGAIN!!!! Join The Portage Parks Foundation and Hannah's Hope on Saturday, October 28th from 7pm-Midnight at Woodland Park (Sycamore Hall) for an adults only costume party and raffle featuring snacks, music, dancing, prizes, and a cash bar. Proceeds from this event will help pay off expenses for the Hannah's Hope Playground at Founders Square.

Pumpkins in the Park - Saturday, Hobart
Good Ol' Fashioned Halloween FUN! Join the City of Hobart for a Pumpkin Party in the Park! There will be music, a costume contest, food vendors, Hocus Pocus Movie in the Park, candy, a campfire and more!

Indiana Dunes Scavenger Hunt - Sunday, Chesterton
Looking for something different to do? The Indiana Dunes Scavenger Hunt is your guide to discovery and adventure in the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. Pick up the Indiana Dunes Scavenger Hunt flyer at the Indiana Dunes Visitor Center or the Paul H. Douglas Center. There are nine amazing places to explore. Ask a ranger at either center for a hint to help you get started.
