Work by Local Artist Jay Zerbe Coming to Lubeznik Center for the Arts

Local artist, Jay Zerbe, will be bringing his latest show,"eCollage", to Lubeznik Center for the Arts (LCA). Zerbe's digital collages are constructed in photoshop using elements from his paintings and drawings ordered in many layers. He then prints the image with archival ink on 8.5x11" archival paper.

"eCollage" will be on display at LCA from January 31 through February 27, 2018 in the Area Artists' Association (AAA) Gallery. Meet the artist at the Opening Reception on February 2 in conjunction with LCA's "Birds & Bees" exhibition opening.

This exhibit follows a recent showing of Zerbe's work, "Kindred Spirits" - a six artist exhibit at the Painting Center in New York City between November 30 and December 23, 2017. The same group of six artists previously had the "Kindred Spirits" exhibit in 2016 at the Greenville Center for Creative Arts in Greenville, SC. "eCollage" will be on display simultaneously at Art Palm Springs with McNabb Martin Fine Art from February 15 through 19. LCA visitors may recognize Zerbe's work which was on exhibit in LCA's Hyndman Gallery in "Abstruse Daydreaming" with Meredith Setser in 2016. His work is currently represented by LaFontsee Galleries (Grand Rapids and Douglas, MI), Tinney Contemporary (Nashville, TN), and Friedman Fine Art (Chicago). Students also cover historical information, examples of contemporary abstract painting and an introduction to color theory. Interested individuals can enroll for the Spring 2018 sessions at lubeznikcenter.org or at 219-874-4900.

Additionally, Zerbe's students' work will be on showcase in "Absorbing the Abstract: Student Works from LCA" from January 29 through February 24, 2018 in LCA's NIPSCO Art Education Studio. Artists include: Judith Holtz, Katryna Galge Jeffrey, Irene Hirt, Stacy Gagle, Tim Rodeghier, Kim Androlowicz, Tom Francia, Kevin Zurik, Judy Kasniunas, Susan Snell and Charyl McComas.
