Portage Robotics Students Awarded Scholarships in 2018

Portage high school seniors Niko Janes, Payton Bailey, Connor Edwards, Scott Watson, and Josh Meiss each earned $10,000 scholarships to Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana for winning the Indiana VEX Robotics State Championships last month.

TechPoint Foundation for Youth and the Robotics Education and Competition Foundation (REC) partnered with Rose-Hulman to offer scholarships for the Excellence Award Winners and Tournament Champion teams. In a press release from TechPoint Foundation for Youth they stated: "As we know, robotics is not just about scoring the most amount of points during a match. We hope that one day these students will take the skills learned through robotics and make a positive impact on the world. We hope that these students will be able to take advantage of this life changing opportunity that Rose-Hulman is providing".
