World Language Department
Four of Portage High School's Spanish students are applying to the Indiana University Honors Program in Foreign Languages. Todd Stivers, Kai Watkins, Angelica Lopez, and Kaitlyn Yates have made it through the first elimination round, which was a test of the Spanish language abilities. The IUHPFL Program sends students to Spanish speaking countries where they study and live for 5-7 weeks. Participants are expected to only speak Spanish for the duration of the trip and will take part in intensive classes, as well as go on several life changing excursions. The entire World Language Department staff is extremely proud of these individuals, and are eager for them to share their Portage Pride... Worldwide!

Government Class
Students in Mrs. Wysocki's government class can easily work individually, in small groups, and in large group discussions. The new furniture helps break the ties of seating charts to help foster collaboration. Ryan Malarik, Rachel Wight, and Dakota Steele share their Economic vocabulary word: strike. The students were able to define, create, and draw their example for the word strike on their new white boards.
