The Portage High School Music Department is pleased to announce that Aaron Riegle, long-time PHS choral director, has been selected to be the clinician for the Indiana Music Education Association’s Circle the State with Song Middle School Honor Choir in Fort Wayne this February. According to the IMEA, “For 27 years, Circle the State with Song (CSWS) has been an integral part of Indiana’s choral landscape. This program is a statewide choral festival for elementary and junior high/middle school choirs.
Nearly 5,000 youth from hundreds of different schools participate in Circle the State each spring at one of 12 sites throughout Indiana. Over 15,000 community members attend these concerts annually.” Mr. Riegle holds degrees in Music Education from Ball State University (M.M.) and Butler University (B.M.). While at Butler University, he also completed studies abroad at the Kodály Pedagogical Institute of Music in Kecskemét, Hungary.
