Thirteen school districts from around Indiana attended an Apple Regional Training Event at Portage High School West. The seminar focused on how educators can use Apple’s products in their schools.
The school districts, which included the School City of East Chicago, North Judson-San Pierre School Corporation, Saint Luke Catholic Church, Culver Community School Corporation, Oregon Davis School Corporation, Lakeland School Corporation, Howard Technology, Duneland School Corporation, Huntington County Community School District, Tri-Creek School Corporation, the School City of Mishawaka, the School Town of Highland and West Side Christian School, were shown how to use Apple products, including iPads and Apple TVs, in classrooms. The event will help these school districts incorporate 1-to-1 devices into their own schools, similar to Portage’s current program.
The event was held in the newly renovated section of the West building at Portage High School. The new configuration fosters a collaborative environment that allows the school the opportunity to host workshops and conventions such as these. This was a powerful opportunity for Portage Township Schools to host professional development opportunities for area school districts.
