Challenger League Raises Spirits of Portage Citizens Every Sunday


Every Sunday night from 5 - 6 p.m., weather permitting, the players of The Challenger League play a game at the Portage Little League fields. The Challenger Division of Little League allow children from age 4 - 18 (22 if the person is still a high school student) with physical, mental and/or developmental challenges to enjoy playing baseball. Each player has a "buddy" to encourage them and assist as necessary" each player gets to bat and play in the infield or outfield; each player gets to score. Each player plays with enthusiasm and to the best of his or her ability. It is amazing to watch these youngsters and their buddies work together.
