On Saturday, February 28, the Fegely Middle School 8th Grade Girls Basketball team took second place in the Thomas Jefferson Super Saturday Tournament.
On Saturday, January 10, the Fegely 8th grade girls basketball team had the opportunity to scrimmage the girls team from Willowcreek during half time of the Valparaiso University women’s basketball game.
JP Garza’s goal in 79th minute broke a halftime tie to help lift the Purdue University Calumet men’s soccer team to a thrilling 3-1 league victory over rival Calumet College of St. Joseph Wednesday at East Chicago Central High School.
The track meet consisted of several teams made up of elementary school children. Everyone completing was in the fifth grade and attended one of the Portage Township Elementary schools. A team from each elementary school was in attendance.
On Friday, April 4th, the Fegely Middle School teachers took on the basketball students in a game that was a real nail-biter. The kids put up a great fight but lost by one point. The final score was 44-43.
On March 13, 2014, Fegely Middle School dance camp participants entertained a packed house, during half time of the 8th grade girl’s basketball game. 54 girls participated in the dance camp, which was held after school 2 days a week for 8 weeks. Participation in the dance camp was so large that students were broken up into two groups to learn two, different, dance routines. While a handful of students who participated in the dance camp have had dance experience, others had no training at all before deciding to participate.
Fegely Middle School 7th grade girls basketball team finished in second place in the Pierce Middle School Basketball Tournament on Saturday, February 8. Fegely beat Lowell 17 -8 to advance to the championship game.
Despite missing the first three days of school (and basketball practice), the Fegely Lady Warriors were able to take advantage of an amazing, once in a life time opportunity to play the first game of the season on a Division One court at Valparaiso University.
Eight teams showed up for the Lake Porter Middle School Cross Country Meet held at Woodland Park tonight. Competing were host teams Portage Willowcreek and Fegley, along with Crown Point’s duo of Colonel Wheeler and Taft; from Valpo, Thomas Jefferson and Ben Franklin, and rounding out the roster were the Hobart Brickies and Chesterton Trojans.
