The Best College Football Games and Recipes for an Entertaining New Year’s Day

For many people, New Year’s Day is all about sleeping in, eating a good breakfast, and the countless college football bowls! While there are a number of events happening to celebrate New Year’s Eve and ring in the new year, New Year’s Day can be just as fun of a party or get together.

On January 1, 2018, the Outback, Chick-Fil-A Peach, Citrus, Allstate Sugar, and Rose Bowl games will be on in the morning through the evening, providing competition and entertainment to share with family and friends all around. So as you, family, and friends all crowd around the TV for some college football, get ready to fill your kitchen bowls with game day recipes to munch and snack on. And of course, don’t forget to stock up on your favorite drink (so long as your NYE wasn’t ruined by it).

We gave it some thought, and here are the top five food ideas to supply as football bowl hosts and guests:

1. Hot or Not Wings
Let’s be honest- what’s a football game without the wings? It doesn’t matter what flavor the wings are…so long as they’re traditional!

2. Mozzarella Sticks
Whether from the frozen aisle at the grocery store or picked up as takeout, this finger food is great for sharing.

3. All Kinds of Dip
It’s hard to go wrong with a dip at a party, especially with the number of options out there are to choose from. Just don’t bring any double-dips and always remember to bring the chips or crackers!

4. Mini Quesadillas
Stay simple and throw in some chicken and cheese, or get creative and add in extras like veggies and sauces. Either way, it’s a delicious mini meal for everyone.

5. Meatballs
We’re not sure how meatballs end up at almost every potluck, but we’re okay with that and we hope you are too! These delicious bite-size treats are perfect on a bun or on their own!
