PUC-Purdue-Calumets-Patrick-Mudd-Claims-Second-Straight-Title-Wins-Aberdeen-OpenA week after capturing medalist honors at the Gary Amateur, Purdue Calumet soon-to-be junior golfer Patrick Mudd continued his hot streak – this time with a come-from-behind win at the inaugural Aberdeen Open in Valparaiso.

Mudd (Crown Point, Ind./Crown Point) cut five strokes from his Day 1 score with a Sunday round of 70 to finish with a field-wide best 145. That round propelled him from third place to the winner’s circle, where he edged out Chris Schultz (147) and Mike Lee (148) for his second-straight title at the Course at Aberdeen.

The event drew nearly 60 golfers in its first year.

Mudd’s marks continue to break his personal-bests in Purdue Calumet competition, where he holds the school records in single round (71) and two-day round (147).
