Purdue Calumet Women’s XC Adds Lincoln Way Central Standout Amanda Baker

PUC-PeregrinsPurdue University Calumet Cross Country coach Stephanie Beck added another recruit to her 2015-16 class, with the recent signing of Lincoln Way Central High standout Amanda Baker.

“Amanda was an immediate fit for our program,” Beck said. “We are extremely excited to bring her talent to our university to continue to help our women’s program grow.

"I am eager to have her build upon her recent success this past cross country season and carry it with her during her career at Purdue Calumet."

Baker, who recorded a 19-minute, 46 second 3-mile personal record, received all-conference honors her junior season. She also competed on the Lincoln Way Central track and field team and was a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

The daughter of Lisa Baker and Timothy Baker, she plans to major in engineering at Purdue Calumet in the fall.
