Purdue Calumet Women Place 10th at CCAC Championships Saturday

PUC-PeregrinsA freshmen-laden Purdue University Calumet women took 10th place in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference cross country championships Saturday at Wing Park Golf Course with 263 points.

Freshman Ashley Ulanowski (Lowell, Ind./Lowell) paced the Peregrines with time of 22:49 to take 75th place, followed by classmate Christine Lewandowski (Whiting, Ind./Bishop Noll) with a personal-best 23:00 to palce in 81st in the 117-runner field.

Rounding out the Peregrine scorers were freshmen Holly Opat (Lowell, Ind./Lowell) in 84th (23:13); Jesenia Zendejas (Highland, Ind./Highland) in 87th (23:26) and Abigail Bondi (Whiting, Ind./Whiting) in 91st with a personal-best of 23:41.

St. Francis (Ill.) and Olivet Nazarene qualified for the NAIA national meet with their 1-2 team finishes, while Judson placed third.

The Peregrine women finished the season with complete team scores in all eight meets this season, highlighted by its second-place finish at the IU East Regional Campus Rumble Aug. 29.
