White Sox Reinstate J.J. Putz from Disabled List

Prior to today’s game at Detroit, the Chicago White Sox reinstated right-handed pitcher J.J. Putz from the 15-day disabled list. whitesoxlogo

Putz, 33, was placed on the disabled list on August 25 with patella tendinitis in his right knee. He has gone 6-5 with a 2.68 ERA (14 ER/47.0 IP) and 55 strikeouts in 50 games this season, his first with the White Sox.

Putz ranks among the American League relief leaders in strikeout-to-walk ratio (3rd, 5.00), wins (T3rd), strikeouts per 9.0 IP (4th, 10.53) and opponents average (10th, .195).

The White Sox active roster is at 33 players.
