Give a Pint, Get a Pint

Culver’s of Valparaiso treat guests who donate blood to local American Red Cross Chapters. culvers

Reward your taste buds with a pint of Culver’s delicious frozen custard. Culver’s of Valparaiso is offering a complimentary pint of custard for every pint of blood donated on March 12th, 2010 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

“Whether you are a regular or first-time blood donor, right now is the time to give the gift of lifesaving blood”. You don’t need a special reason to give blood; you just need your reason. Every blood donor is special, every reason is unique. Your donation makes a difference. Please help us reach our goal of 30 pints on March 12th.

Blood donors are asked to make appointments in advance by calling 531-9600. The blood drive will take place from 2p.m. to 7 p.m. and every Culver’s guest who registers and donates will receive a “Give a Pint, Get a Pint” certificate for a complimentary pint of frozen custard.

Blood is needed every day in hospitals and emergency treatment facilities for patients with cancer and other diseases, for organ transplant recipients, and to have save lives of accident victims.

Giving blood is a safe, easy process and takes very little time. Although about 60 percent of the people in local communities are eligible to donate blood, only five percent do. Anyone at least 17 years of age, weighing 110 pounds or more and feeling in good health may be eligible to donate blood. A single donation can be used to help save as many as three lives.

March is National American Red Cross Month

During the month of March, Culver’s of Valparaiso will be selling Red Cross’ for the Porter County Chapter of the American Red Cross. Donate $1.00 and you will receive a Red Cross to sign with your name or anonymous. The cross will then be displayed on the dining room wall throughout the month of March.

Everyday the American Red Cross helps people in emergencies whether it’s half a million disaster victims or one sick child who needs blood. Our local chapter provides emergency assistance to people in our community who have been forced out of their homes due to fire, flood, winter storms or other disasters
