RE/MAX Affiliates, along with the Portage Department of Parks and Recreation, Outback, and Gabriel’s Horn will present the Memorial Day Trail Run Xtreme 12K on May 28, 2012 on the east side of Imagination Glen Park in Portage.

Registration will begin at 7:00am and last until 8:30am. A Kid’s Mile will be ran at 8:15am, followed by the Xtreme 12K at 9am.

Online registration is still available for the 5th annual Kent's Run 5K sponsored by Walgreens. Come celebrate the life of former Boone Grove High School student-athlete Kent Ribordy. Kent passed away from leukemia in 2007.

The event will be held on Saturday, May 26th, at 8 a.m. The start and finish line is located at Boone Grove Middle School, 325 West 550 South, Boone Grove, Indiana 46302. Plenty of free parking is available.

Tickets are now on sale for the Chesterton/Duneland Chamber of Commerce Annual Golf Outing, which will be held on Monday, June 4, at Sand Creek Country Club in Chesterton. The outing will begin at 8am, with registration and a full breakfast. A shotgun start for registered golfers will begin at 10am. At 2:30pm, guests will enjoy after-play dinner and drinks. Tickets are $200 per golfer, a price which includes golf activities, both breakfast and dinner, and on-course snacks.

Opportunity Enterprises is seeking runners of all abilities to join its 2012 Mudathlon Team, which will complete the race on Saturday, July 21 at the Graeber Family Farms in Valparaiso. Opportunity Enterprises will receive a $10 donation for every person who registers for the team.

The Mudathlon is a 3-mile course featuring over 40 fun and challenging mud obstacles, including creek crossings, a mud slide, heaping hay bales, a 100 yard long mucking mud pit, and a cargo net climb.
