The local inns, restaurants and attractions are featured in Midwest Living magazine’s recently-released “Best of the Midwest Travel.”
Songbird Prairie Bed & Breakfast in Valparaiso is featured on page 48 in an article about B&Bs with exceptional breakfasts that incorporate local ingredients. Songbird often serves food from its garden.

Valpo Velvet ice cream has been named among the “Top 10 Indiana Places for Ice Cream,” and the Indiana Dunes made the list of “Indiana’s Top 10 Summer Gotta-Dos.”
Both places were announced as winners Friday by the Indiana Office of Tourism Development, which is putting together a variety of Top 10 lists.

The recently-released USA Today Chicago City Guide features a two-page spread about getting away to Chesterton, Valparaiso and Michigan City.
The article, written by Chicago travel writer Elaine Glusac, is titled, “Coastal Culture. The towns of Lake Michigan’s southern shore -- Chesterton, Michigan City, and Valparaiso -- will draw you in with a mix of nature and artistry.”
