Fashion Statement with a Conscience

From-Soldier-to-SoldierThe eState in Portage is now carrying From Soldier to Soldier bracelets. This is a fund-raising and awareness campaign based on a designer version of the survival bracelets worn by thousands of US and allied soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. $25 from the sale of each bracelet will be donated to organizations assisting wounded veterans and their families.

The survival bracelet in the field is braided by the soldiers with parachute cord. Often, a uniform button is sewn on and used as the clasp. The button clasp symbolizes the uniform and the clasped bracelet symbolizes the bond among the soldiers that can never be broken. The original idea came from Stefan Hylleborg, a veteran of the war in Afghanistan.
