The market is open Saturdays through October 1st from 8am - 1pm rain or shine at Founders’ Square Park. Items available for purchase include bread, vegetables, flowers, homemade baked goods, prepared foods, honey, jams, jellies, canned foods and beverages and an array of craft items. Food concessions are also available. Located amongst beautiful park surroundings Founders’ Square is located 2 blocks east of City Hall on the North Side of Central Avenue downtown Portage, Indiana.

Resale for Life Bazaar to Be Held June 11

relayLogoThe City of Portage Relay for Life Team is sponsoring a Resale Bazaar on June 11, 2011 from 9 am to 2 pm in the city hall parking lot to help raise funds for the ACS. Vendors are invited to sign up for two "lot spots", application forms available here. Return the completed application form along with payment to City of Portage Human Resources Department by Wednesday, June 3, 2011. Set up will be from 7:30 am to 8:30 am. Tear down will happen immediately after the event.

Please keep clothing items to a minimum. Vendor is responsible for removal of all unsold items from premises at conclusion of event. No refunds available after June 3.

2011 Portage Community Market Opening June 4th, Seeking Vendors

portage-community-marketThe 2011 Portage Community Market is set to kick-off on Saturday, June 4th at Founders’ Square Park from 8:00am-1:00pm. The opening day is chalked-full of special events. In additional to the market vendors, Bob Barthel will be performing live from 9am-12pm. He sings and plays the acoustic guitar. PoPo’s will have a 12 foot inflatable slide set up for the kid and the Portage Garden Club will be conducting a hands-on clinic called “Creating Patio Gardens and Organic Gardening” beginning at 10am. All of the programs are free to the public. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and spend the entire day at the park. The market is a rain or shine event.

Chesterton's European Market Opens With Market Day Deals and a New Website

Chesterton’s European Market is open every consecutive Saturday from 8am to 2pm, however they are closed for Oz Festival weekend September 17 and reopen until the last Saturday in October. The Chesterton/Duneland Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the launch of a new, fully functional website for Chesterton’s European Market. “We are pleased to have had the ability to update our European Market website, as it hasn’t been since 2003 and with our growth we want to make information as accessible as possible,” said Tiffany Bley, Market Director.

The new website boasts rolling photographs, an event calendar, a news section that features a tentative listing of weekly vendors and a musician schedule. The listings are tentative as the Market is rain or shine so when poor weather comes vendors may cancel. The website also features a detailed vendor section, describing the seasonal vendors that participate in the market every single Saturday throughout the season.
