Before Hot Chelle Rae “fueled up the Jeep with bubbly elasti-funk and breezy hip-hop swagger” (as Entertainment Weekly put it) with their brand new single “I Like It Like That,” the Nashville-based quartet scored a bonafide breakthrough smash hit over the last several months with “Tonight Tonight.” Declared “one of the catchiest pop-rock anthems of the summer” by USA Today, “Tonight Tonight” crashed into the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in July like an unruly teenager, shot to No. 1 at Hot AC radio in September, was certified double-platinum in the U.S., and certified platinum in Canada and Australia. Meanwhile, its hilarious video (featuring a cameo by guitarist Nash Overstreet’s brother, Glee’s Chord Overstreet) has racked up nearly 30 million views online, energizing the group’s active, devoted fan base. But it wasn’t until Jon Stewart sang a snippet of its chorus on The Daily Show that the band realized just how thoroughly “Tonight Tonight” had penetrated the mainstream.

Great-Lake-Sound-ChorusGreat Lake Sound Chorus is not only a Sweet Adeline Women’s Barbershop chorus, but they are a wonderfully diverse group of women, unbelievably talented and dedicated to the work it takes to succeed.

On May 5th, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, thirteen choruses, ranging from 16 to 83 members, competed. When the announcements were made, Great Lake Sound was excited to hear their name. Third Place Small Chorus Award goes to….Great Lake Sound Chorus of Valparaiso, Indiana. A few minutes later when the Fifth Place Overall Award was announced it was hard to even hear what was being said because of the screams of 17 ladies from Valparaiso. Great Lake Sound Chorus had won again.

Indiana-Dunes-Tourism-LogoAn Indianapolis television personality will be broadcasting live from a Porter County restaurant Thursday morning.

Sherman Burdette, of Fox59 in Indianapolis, will broadcast from the restaurant at about 5:45 a.m and 6:45 a.m. Central Standard Time. During each 60 to 90 second segment, he will provide viewers with clues that will help them figure out the location from which he is broadcasting.
