Sylvan Marine traces its history back to the late 1940s, when it was founded as a pontoon and houseboat manufacturer near Sylvan Lake in Wolcottville, Indiana. The company was purchased in the early 1970s by Harold Schrock, whose father founded Starcraft back in 1903. Today, the Sylvan brand is part of the Smoker Craft Family of Products and continues to be known for high quality, innovative pontoons and aluminum fishing boats. Storage

After your boat has been properly winterized, you may have the need for it to be stored for the winter. Our facility has unlimited outdoor storage and limited inside storage. If you choose to store your boat outside, we have another service that might interest you called shrink wrapping. A protective shrink wrap cover is placed over your boat and motor, with proper bracing, screened air vents, and mildew gas placed inside. This will protect your boat from snow and dirt while it is being stored.

Service

Erwin's Marine has been an authorized Mercury Dealer since 1959. We have trained and certified mechanics on the premises to work on your boat motor. As a way of better serving you, we also offer local lake service capability for those times when you just can't get your boat to us.
Before the leaves start to turn, and there is a chill in the air, we may consider winterizing our cars and our homes. But more important is the winterization of your boat motor or engine. For regular maintenance and winterizing, we recommend that you stabilize the gas, fog the engine, and change the lower unit grease on an outboard. As a service to you, we carry the supplies for the "do it yourselfer", or one of our factory trained professionals will be happy to do it for you. For inboard/outboards, it is absolutely necessary that you winterize before the first freeze, to prevent some very severe and expensive damage.
