Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County Recognizes January Members of the Month

BGC-Jan-Austin-PortageBoys & Girls Clubs of Porter County is proud to recognize its outstanding Members of the Month for January. The Member of the Month program recognizes Club members who best demonstrate the ideals of the Boys & Girls Club, which include developing productive, responsible, and caring citizens.

Portage Forrest “Dusty” Rhode Club— Austin Austin attends Willowcreek Middle School and is in 8th grade. He has been a member of the Portage Forrest “Dusty” Rhode Club for three years. He enjoys open gym time at the Club because he can play many different sports. Austin’s favorite food is steak and his goal in life is to become a professional football player.

Duneland Unit—Kyrsten Kyrsten is in 7th grade at Chesterton Middle School and has been a member of the Duneland Unit for 5 years. She enjoys participating on the unit’s Teen Room activities and loves to read. Her favorite sports team is the Pittsburgh Steelers.

BGC-Jan-Kyrsten-DunelandValparaiso Club—Sarah Sarah is a 3rd grader at Central Elementary. She has been a member of the Valparaiso Club for over two years. When at the club, she likes to spend time expressing her creativity in the Art Room. At home, she enjoys making crafts as well. She hopes to, one day, become an Art Teacher.

South Haven Club—Brianna Brianna is in 3rd grade and attends Paul Saylor Elementary. She has been a member of the South Haven Club for three years. Brianna enjoys spending time in the Club’s Learning Center and likes to help the Club staff. Her favorite food is tacos and during football season, she roots for the Chicago Bears.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County has been serving youth for 40 years. The Clubs provide programs for more than 5,000 boys and girls in the areas of academic success, good character & citizenship, and healthy lifestyles.
