Reserve Police Officers serve the City of Portage on a voluntary basis and receive no compensation for their time. Reserve Officers must complete 60 hours per quarter of the year to keep their status as an Officer with the Police Department. Some of the duties of a Reserve Officer include but are not limited to patrol duties, transportation of prisoners, fingerprinting, and traffic control. Certain events are considered mandatory involvement such as 4th of July parade, football and basketball game security as well as other duties, as assigned. Related Articles
