Hammond city hall members gathered inside the lobby of the historic Bank Calumet building this week, for a walk-through of the offices, before being asked to put an upcoming move to a vote. Mayor McDermott has proposed moving the current city hall into the 90 year-old building, located in the heart of Hammond’s downtown district, to better integrate city business and to stir economic growth in the city.

On February 4th 1st Source Bank made a visit to the United Way Michigan City office to deliver a $5000 check for their Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program. The same day, United Way donated $8000 to the La Porte County Emergency Management Agency.
On Tuesday, Tri-State Automation (TSA) announced the expansion of its operations in Hammond over the next several years that will lead to the creation of between 30-50 new jobs with an average annual salary of $55,000 plus benefits. Tri-State Automation, a division of Hammond based Tri-State Industries, is investing approximately $2.5 million to renovate, repurpose and equip a 13,000 square-foot facility and surrounding grounds at 710 Michigan Street.

1st Source Corporation (NASDAQ:SRCE), parent company of 1st Source Bank, today announced net income of $57.49 million for the year of 2015, compared to $58.07 million in 2014. Fourth quarter net income was $14.42 million, compared to $15.00 million in the fourth quarter of 2014. The 2014 results included $3.30 million of one-time tax benefits of which $2.12 million was in the fourth quarter. These benefits were the result of a resolution of uncertain tax positions due to settlements with taxing authorities and the lapse of the applicable statute of limitations.
