Joel Vuko, of Portage, died June 9th of kidney failure related to anti-rejection medication taken since a heart transplant 12 years ago. Joel was involved I just about everything. Building Inspector for Portage at the time of his death, Joel also was a career plumber, a retired firefighter and a former school bus driver. Joel was president of our Portage Chamber of Commerce in 1998 and a co-founder of the city’s service day, now known as Rebuilding Together. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. |
