JAMES T. McKEE, SR. PORTAGE, IN James T. McKee, Sr., age 80 of Portage, passed away Monday, August 23, 2010. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Barbara Marie (nee Moser) McKee; six children: Debbie (J.J.) Satka, Beth McKee, James & Tom (Marlene) McKee Jr., Bruce (Tami) McKee, Mark (Kristen) McKee, and Tina (John) Gibson; proud grandfather of 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. James was the oldest son of James T. McKee and Audrey Viola (nee Jones) McKee. He was preceded in death by parents: brothers: Carl, Clarence, and Walter; and sister, Eleanor. James was a member of Crossroads Family Church, Portage. He surrendered his life to Jesus Christ at age 28 and was a lifetime student of the Bible. He was licensed to preach the gospel and traveled with his wife to foreign lands on many missionary trips. James was a respected Bible teacher and church board member. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, trained in heavy artillery and served in Germany during the Korean War. James was a retired steel hauler with Gary Transfer and Sims Motor Transport. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and restoring old tractors. Family and friends may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service, 2700 Willowcreek Road, Portage on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 26, 2010 DIRECTLY at Crossroads Family Church, 2380 Willowcreek Road, Portage with Pastor Mike Bean officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service.
