Franciscan St. Anthony Health EMS Academy Offers EMT Training Program Registration

rot5The Franciscan St. Anthony Health-Crown Point Emergency Medical Services Academy will accept applications until 4 p.m. Dec. 5 for its next emergency medical technician training program, which will begin Jan. 25.

Applications for the six-month course are available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily at the EMS Academy, which is located on the second floor of the hospital’s Medical Arts Center, 1201 S. Main St., Suite 201, or through the academy website: http://www.franciscanalliance.org/hospitals/crownpoint/health-professionals/ems-academy/Pages/default.aspx

Applicants must be Indiana residents.

Classes will be offered from 6 to 10 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays.

Students will have the opportunity to participate in the academy’s annual mass casualty drill in March. After completing the course, they will qualify to take written and practical exams for state certification.

The Franciscan St. Anthony Health EMS Academy is a nationally accredited program that includes instructors who work as paramedics for local providers. Associate instructors include emergency room physicians, pharmacists and other experienced personnel.

Course fee is $900, with payment plans available. The Don Hess Memorial Scholarship is available for students in financial need.
