Winter Didn’t Stop a Worthwhile Health Fair

Photos from the Health and Wellness Fair can be seen here!

On Tuesday morning, Life Care Center of Valparaiso opened its doors and welcomed the public for its 6th annual Health and Wellness Fair.

People perused the various booths that vendors had set up throughout the room. Lots of helpful and healthful services from healthcare, senior living, and other facilities were available that day. Flu shot were given by Walgreens, blood pressure tests, blood sugar tests, and other free screenings were available all in one convenient place.

Great businesses were there like North Shore Health Center, Rittenhouse Senior Living of Valparaiso and Rittenhouse Senior Living of Portage, Amedisys Home Health Services, Trinity Health Care, Community Healthcare System, and others.

On top of that, specialty vendors were available for those who wished to get a jump start on their holiday shopping and tours were available for those who wished to learn more about Life Care Center.

"This is an amazing way to get the community out here to the facility," Cathy Ellis, Marketing Director at Life Care Centers of Valparaiso said. "We can get them educated on other companies in the area that can help them as well as our own. And after our facility some seniors may need further assistance so we can help get people connected with the right services in that regard."

Focusing on physical, occupational, and speech therapy on an inpatient and outpatient basis, Life Care Center of Valparaiso and Life Care Center of the Willows offer care that is unique to each patient. Each location's team of associates does their best to help patients and residents independence and high quality of life. Many services are offered including but not limited to: back injury treatment, certified nursing care, dementia care, enteral nutrition, hospice care, long-term care, and much more.

With a large number of seniors living in our community, it's important to make sure that they are taken care of and given as many opportunities as possible to live healthy and happy lives. Health fairs like this one give them great access to information, services, and people that can guide them in the right direction. Today's seniors took care of younger generations and it's important that the favor is returned.
