Coming Soon…Your Own Center for Women’s Health

Soon after Porter Regional Hospital opens to the world in August, a special Center for Women's Health will follow suit and open in the hospital's adjacent Medical Plaza in October. "We're excited to be able to offer women a single location for a multitude of services," said Nancy Babich, Porter's Director of Diagnostic Imaging. "Just as important as the services, we'll be creating a center that's comfortable and feels more spa-like than clinical. Because we've been able to design this area from the ground up, we can make spaces more comfortable and private, creating a better flow so women can have the services revolve around them."

What to Expect

Comprehensive screening and diagnostic services with a personal touch will be just steps away from the new hospital. By bringing a collection of services to one location near the hospital, patients can expect shorter wait times and more convenient collaboration between health care professionals, including surgeons, oncologists and other physicians in the same building.

"Not only will we be able to offer a higher level of diagnostic care, but we'll be able to offer it in a more compassionate setting," said Porter's Breast Care Coordinator Cheryl Wallace, RN. "We looked at other centers and incorporated their best practices to help make women feel more comfortable and valued while receiving high quality of care."
