Porter Health System has announced that Derek Gasper, DO, has joined the hospital’s network of family medicine physicians. He is currently seeing patients at Glendale Primary Care located at 1101 E. Glendale Blvd. in Valparaiso.
A graduate of Michigan State University, Gasper pursued a career in medical technology before receiving his doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine.
In commenting on his decision to pursue a career in family medicine, Gasper said, “Family medicine lets me personally interact with my patients and offer the compassionate, evidence-based medicine they deserve.”
In his practice, Gasper treats patients from infancy through older adulthood who present with all types of acute and chronic illnesses. He also provides preventive medicine services such as physicals, seasonal flu shots and immunizations.
