Health Screenings at the Portage Public Library in March

Porter Health System will be offering several screenings at the Portage Public Library during the month of March.

Blood pressure, Blood sugar, BMI Screening: March 1, March 22 9am – Noon
Porter Health System will offer a triple screening opportunity, featuring tests for blood pressure, blood sugar and Body Mass Index by Porter’s Community Care Nurse Steve Beach, RN, BSN. Free, no appointment necessary

Total Cholesterol Screening: March 8 - 9-11 AM; March 30 - 9-11 AM
Steve Beach, RN, BSN will be conducting a full cholesterol panel screening. This will include total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, and triglyceride levels. Pre-registration in required, call 219-263-5669 to make an appointment, and you MUST fast for 12 hours. There is a $15 fee for this screening. If you qualify to be a Senior Circle member, you will receive your screening free with a new membership.

Bone Density Screening: March 17 - 2-5 PM
Porter Health System will offer a FREE Bone Density Screening by Porter’s Community Care Nurse Steve Beach, RN, BSN. The screening is performed on the heel of the foot; participants must be able to remove their socks. Free, no appointment necessary.
