Porter Regional Hospital: Need a Screening Mammogram on a Saturday? Porter Has You Covered.

Pink-at-Porter-RegionalLadies – you’re busy. We know how it feels! Pink at Portage is here to help.

Presented by Porter Health Care System, this special monthly event is offered the third Saturday of each month so women can conveniently complete their annual screening mammogram. The next program is from 7 a.m. to Noon, Sept. 9, in the Women’s Center at Portage Hospital, 3630 Willowcreek Road, Portage.

Women can get their annual screening mammograms and receive a complimentary brunch.

Mammograms are an essential tool to the early detection of breast cancer. Early detection is important, as the chances of the successful treatment of breast cancer are greater in the beginning stages, when there is an increased range of treatment options, less extensive surgery, and better outcomes. The American Cancer Society recommends that women age 40 or older, or those considered at risk, receive a mammogram each year.

To participate in Pink at Portage, a woman must be age 40 or older and know the date of her last mammogram. Insurance will be charged and only covers one screening mammogram annually. The Women’s Center at Portage Hospital offers 3D mammography. For more information or to pre-register, call 219-983-8399.
