Organized by Art Branco, MD, a longtime clinic board member, and staffed by his family and other volunteers, the event raised more than $12,000 to support work being done at the clinic.

“We are extremely grateful for the support of our sponsors and our bowlers, who came out to show such great support. This event would have never happened without the leadership and dedication of the Branco family,” said Tony Englert, regional executive director of the Franciscan Alliance Foundation. Shown, from left, are Marilyn Branco, Jenny Krol, Dr. Branco, Susan Branco and Mary Jo Branco. The clinic, 5514 Hohman Ave., which is under the auspices of Franciscan St. Margaret Health-Hammond, offers free primary care to underprivileged area residents. Last year, the clinic logged more than 50,000 patient encounters, offering free diagnostic testing, as well as medication and preventative health education. It is sustained through philanthropic support and gifts are appreciated. To learn more about the clinic or to make a donation, call the foundation at (219) 661-3401, or visit www.givetofranciscan.org.
