AT&T Answers St. Clare Health Clinic Call for Help

Franciscan-St-Clare-Clinic-DonationsMembers of the Crown Point AT&T engineering and project management office, for the second consecutive year, were among area residents and organizations that responded to a recent plea to the community for donations to the St. Clare Health Clinic and Prenatal Assistance program, delivering goods that filled two SUVs. AT&T representative Kelly Filkowski, second from right, said the collection was done through the company’s Pioneers community assistant group. “We want to do things locally to help families who need it,” she said.

Shown, from left, are: Carrie Vendramin of AT&T, Diane Jansen, clinic volunteer coordinator; Valerie Giacomin, clinic volunteer; and AT&T employees Joe Esch, Dennis Protega, Marty Drew, Gary Diekelmann, Filkowski, and Virginia Clark.

The clinic is in constant need of nonperishable food items, paper goods, including toilet paper; laundry detergent and personal care products, such as deodorant, shampoo and soap.

St. Clare, which is under the auspices of Franciscan St. Anthony Health-Crown Point, provides free primary health care for area residents who fall within established income guidelines, are uninsured and are not eligible for government assistance. Donations may be brought to the clinic, 1121 S. Indiana Ave., between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

The Prenatal Assistance Program is in need of diapers, formula, baby items and new or gently used clothing, sizes newborn through 3T. The program likewise provides free assistance to needy area residents.
