Patients all across the country find themselves in dire need of care during evenings or weekends when outpatient clinics and physician offices are closed. This leads to emergency room visits, which in turn may lead to delayed care or unnecessary discomfort.
Our physicians and clinic staff recognize these situations. That's why Franciscan Hammond Clinic and Franciscan Physicians Hospital have developed the Direct Admission Program, a new way of providing care for the patients we are fortunate to serve.
Rather than face what could be a painstaking and treatment-delaying emergency room trip, you can call our night staff nurses at (219) 836-5800 and tell them what symptoms you're experiencing. The nurse will review your electronic medical record and consult with a Franciscan Hammond Clinic physician to determine the best and most efficient course of treatment for you.
With 24-hour access to your medical records, our caring physicians and staff will strive to keep you out of the emergency room. If hospitalization or off-hours evaluation by a physician is warranted, our staff can arrange direct admission and evaluation by a physician who has your records available, all without the delay that may occur from a trip to the ER.
