Mother's Day weekend is here and as we celebrate all the mothers and grandmothers that have helped to raise and inspire us, check out all the events going on this weekend to honor them! From hospital tours for expectant mothers, brunches at the park, theater shows on motherhood, days at the zoo, and more, this weekend promises something fun for every type of mother in Northwest Indiana!

May 11: Valparaiso High School Varsity Singers Spring Concert 2018 - Valparaiso, IN
This will be a fantastic, high-energy concert performed by some of the most talented kids at Valparaiso High School! Tickets are $8.00 advance purchase or $10.00 at the door and will take place at the Valparaiso University Center for the Arts!

May 11-13: La Porte Little Theatre Club Presents: James and the Giant Peach - La Porte, IN
The La Porte Little Theatre Club is presenting Roald Dahl's James and the Giant Peach, directed by Katy Gartland all this weekend! 

May 12: Listen to your Mother - Hobart, IN
Looking for something cultural and interesting to attend Mother’s Day weekend? Although not just for mothers, the show, Listen to Your Mother, a series of live readings and performances by local writers about motherhood, is scheduled for Saturday, May 12 at 7 PM at the Art Theater in Hobart!

May 12: Giant Paws Prints Rescue 2nd Annual Bake Sale - Valparaiso, IN
Not sure what to do for Mom for Mother’s Day? Why not take mom to breakfast or lunch at one of Valpo’s best restaurants, treat her to some homemade baked goods, AND take her to meet some awesome dogs?!

May12: Porter Regional Hospital New Beginnings Tours - Valparaiso, IN
Learn more about what your birthing experience will be like during a 30-minute tour of the labor, delivery, postpartum, and nursery areas at Porter Regional Hospital! Tours will be held the first two Saturdays of each month at 2 p.m., and the last two Tuesdays of each month at 6 p.m. Upcoming tours are May 12, 22, and 29. May 12: Togetherhood Clean-Up Day - Griffith, IN
Togetherhood is an initiative that connects people from all backgrounds to plan and carry out projects that address a real community need. Give back and volunteer a few hours by cleaning up Griffith! Visit crymca.org for more information. To volunteer, register in advance at the Griffith Family YMCA!

May 13: Mother’s Day Service - Portage, IN
The LifePoint Baptist Church invites you to join them on Mother's Day where they will honor the mothers in the service, and have a special gift for all mothers in attendance. They will also have a baby dedication during the morning service, if you have a baby that was born since last Mother's Day.

May 13: Flashback Cinema: The Sound of Music at the PORTAGE 16 IMAX + GDX - Portage, IN
Take a trip down memory lane this Mother's Day weekend with Portage IMAX's Flashback Cinema showing of the all-time classic, The Sound of Music! 

May 13: Mother’s Day at the Zoo - Michigan City
Spend Mother's Day making special memories that will last a lifetime at the Washington Park Zoo where all mothers and grandmothers will receive free admission with a paid child admission!
