Have some fun at the newly-remodeled Zao Island 
If you haven’t been to Zao Island lately, then you need to go back because there is a ton of new and awesome things going on there. The Wright family has been putting a lot of time and thought into the new and expanded attractions at Zao.

Go See a Show at Portage IMAX
Summer movie season is in full swing with major releases for dates, family, comedies and more. This week, the Portage IMAX will open with Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Me Before You and more!

Disc Golf at Countryside Park
Did you know Portage Park's Countryside Park has a disc golf course? Take a stroll around the scenic park and through the woods and have some fun in the process!

Maple City Grand Prix 
One of the biggest events in La Porte County is back! The City of La Porte will be hosting 3 days of the world’s fastest tunnel boat racing on Stone Lake again for the 4th year in a row at the Maple City Grand Prix. This year’s Grand Prix will once again kick off the USF1 series as the season opening race.

Lubeznik Center for the Arts First Friday: LOK Young Artists' Expo & Performance
Lubeznik Center for the Arts will host the third annual LOK Young Artists' Expo in partnership with the Lindsey O'Brien Kesling (LOK) Wishing Tree Foundation. The evening is a showcase of LOK's work with youth in the region which includes support of LCA's youth programs. Activities will include an exhibition of artwork created primarily by LCA students ,as well as the Bloomington, Indiana Boys & Girls Club, on view in the NIPSCO Education Studios through June 23. At 6 PM (CDT) enjoy dance performances by Marsh Elementary School students and violin performances by Pine Elementary Students, both part of LCA afterschool programming. South Shore Dance Alliance, another long term LOK partner, will follow with a stellar high energy performance.

HSCA Annual Pet Parade and Vendor Fair
Humane Society Calumet Area (HSCA) invites the community to attend its 24th annual Paws in the Park, a family- and pet-friendly pet parade/walk-a-thon and vendor fair. The event takes place on Saturday, June 4 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Main Square Park in Highland, Ind. Vendors of all types—pet, product, arts and crafts, and vegetarian food vendors, as well as service providers, demonstrators and more—are invited to participate in the event. Vendors will be offered a 10-by-10 ft. space. Sponsorship opportunities also are available.

Jammin with Save the Dunes 
The festival is about all things local - local bands, local breweries, local wineries and local food. We are thrilled to announce this year's band lineup. The Karen Banks-Lubicz Trio from the Old Town School of Folk Music will start the day off by entertaining families and kids of all ages with fun, engaging songs. Then the Cory Dennison Blues Band will play the blues straight from Buddy Guy's Legends in Chicago. Our evening headliner this year is Mr. Blotto, the famed Chicago jam band.

Highland Car Cruise 
Downtown Highland will be the venue for the Town's 3rd Downtown Car Cruise on Saturday, June 4th, from 4 pm to 8 pm. The event will be hosted by the Highland Main Street Board, in conjunction with the Highland Redevelopment Commission. The event will feature scores of vintage cars, parked in Highland's downtown, along Highway Avenue and Jewett Street, from Kennedy Avenue to 5th Street. The event is free, and open to all ages. During the event, visitors will be able to stop in and frequent downtown businesses that are open.

Help Me Mommy Presents Rocky Horror Picture Show 
Every Saturday night after the regular movie-goers leave the Art Theater from their evening show the cast and crew of Help Me Mommy start filling in for their kind of show - a “shadow cast” presentation of the 1975 cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show. The spotlights go up, the screen turns on to show that infamous red lipstick painted mouth, and the show starts.

Taltree Arboretum & Gardens Craft Beer Festival 
Great music will be on tap as well! Groove to a battle of the bands with entertainment by The Grateful Dadz, Journeymen and Subliminal Blue Groovin Band!
