Movies on the Square
The Portage Parks Department is hosting free Movie on the Square, the 1st 2nd and 3rd Fridays of August. This month is sponsored by BAM Pizza Company. Movie is free, but there will be food, treats, and beverages available for purchase. Movie will be begin at dusk. Tour de La Porte
Tour de La Porte is a bike ride, running and walking event to benefit patients with cancer in our community. One hundred percent of the funds are used for direct patient assistance and cancer screenings to members of our community. 

Chalk-A-Lot
It's the return of one of Whiting's coolest events, Chalk-A-Lot. This beautiful day outdoors gives you a chance to walk around downtown Whiting and enjoy the creative art done on the sidewalks by local and national artists, organizations, clubs, etc. The event is Saturday, August 22 from 11 am - 3 pm and not only features a day of art but of "Choc-o-late" too. 

Porter Regional Hospital Sneak Peek at New Valpo ER
Be one of the first to step into Porter’s new ER during our “Sneak Peek” open house from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 22. You’ll find quality, full-service emergency care around the clock at Valparaiso Medical Center, located on the corner of Roosevelt Road and Glendale Blvd. in Valparaiso. 

Portage Bacon Fest
Bacon Fest Portage is a one day festival on Saturday August 22, 2015 featuring bacon inspired food. The festival will be free entry and open to the public from 10:00am - 8:00pm. It will be located at Founders Square Park in downtown Portage, IN. 

Memorial Opera House Rock the House
Hosted by Stretch Miller The Memorial Opera House is having it's Rock The House II concert to benefit the Memorial Opera House.

Sauers Buick GMC Car Show and Family Fun Fair
A tradition 11 years strong, it’s time once again for the annual Sauers Buick GMC Car Show and Family Fun Fair on Saturday, Aug. 22 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Valpo Night Ride
Ride through Valpo with friends or family at night! The leisure ride is a 15-mile route that begins and ends at the Butterfield Family Pavilion, with a mid-ride snack stop at Central Park and the Porter Health Amphitheater, continuing through VU and other neighborhoods. An after-ride meal and party is available at the Pavilion. Police and volunteers escort bicyclists throughout the Night Ride. For ages 10 and up (under 10 must be accompanied by an adult on a tandem or pull-behind). Price is $30 by August 7, $40 after August 7. Check in starts at 9:30 PM with ride beginning at 11:00 PM. 

Hobart Lakefront Festival
Come enjoy four days of fun! There will be rockin’ bands, a beer garden, inflatable slides and obstacle courses for children and many arts and craft vendors to enjoy. Fun for everyone!

Hammond Horse Rodeo
The East Side Community Council invites everyone to come out to Memorial Park in Hammond on Saturday, August 22 at 3 p.m. for an all horse rodeo. Melvin Clay's Urban Cowboy Inc. of Chicago partners with the East Side Community Council to expose Hammond kids to a new & exciting sport. This sport is fun, physical and gives kids the opportunity to learn how to ride and care about horses.
