IU Northwest Announces Premier of ‘The Thai Experience’ on Nov. 20

Prospective MBA students can learn about study abroad experience through documentary chronicling recent trip to Bangkok

rot1This past spring, Indiana University Northwest Weekend MBA students traveled to Bangkok, Thailand, to learn about international business practices, culture and history firsthand.

The students’ 10-day global journey will debut in a one-hour documentary, “Culture, Business & Higher Education: The Thai Experience,” scheduled for 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 20 in the Bruce W. Bergland Auditorium, located in the Savannah Center.

From visits to historical temples, to meetings with executives of international companies, the documentary details the trip from the MBA students’ perspective.

Aaron Pigors, IU Northwest MBA student and Media Production Manager, attended the trip as the film producer and director.

“The most intriguing parts of the trip weren’t necessarily the planned activities, but in simply observing the Thai people, their environment, and their way of life,” Pigors said. “Being out of the classroom and immersed in the Thai culture was a valuable opportunity and memorable experience for me, both as a filmmaker and as a student of international business.”

Individuals attending the premier will also learn about the MBA program options available. IU Northwest remains the only public business program in Northwest Indiana to carry AACSB accreditation, a benchmark of quality attained by only five percent of business schools worldwide.

The movie premier is free and open to the public.
