The Lounge Devils Bring Vaudeville to Valpo on NYE

On New Year’s Eve, the community had the chance to experience a unique type of entertainment at the Memorial Opera House in Valparaiso. The Lounge Devils performed what they called Variety-Ville for the attendees at the Opera House.

“Valpo is our favorite small town to perform in,” said Buddy Devil of The Lounge Devils. “It’s one of those towns that just has swank,” his brother and comedy partner, Frank Devil, added.

The doors opened at 7:00 p.m., giving the audience a chance to check out the cash bar before the show started at 7:30 p.m. After the show, everyone toasted the New Year at midnight.

Along with hosting the event, Frank and Buddy Devil brought some classic style vaudeville comedy to the event. Given the audience’s reaction, it was hard to believe that Variety-Ville had only just started in June of 2013.

Acts such as Thrym the Strongman and his handler Alastair, jazz singers Samantha Bryce and Adrien Brizzolara, and comedians Jordan Hart and Ari Arellano delighted the audience. Those weren’t all the acts either. A wonderful dance duo performed the Tango and the Cha-Cha.

The acts that performed fit right in with the delightful comedy of the two devilish hosts. It was plain to see that all of the acts, including the Lounge Devils, were there as one team.

“We’re trying to build a family,” said Buddy devil. “All these acts are a part of that family, and we love them.”

It was evident that The Lounge Devils and Variety-Ville really won the crowd over. The night was full of laughter and amazement as the wonderful acts performed for everyone. Frank Devil summed it up best.

“If you don’t like our show, you’re dead. That’s all there is to it.”
