The drama club Drama Matters After School is a new program being offered at the Dusty Rhode Club in Portage, ran by Susan Young and Adam Clough. 
The club will meet once a week. The first show the group will perform will be Beauty is the Beast. “Beauty and the Beast teaches the kids a special lesson that looks are not everything.” Says Adam Clough “We will look at all aspects of drama from plays to musicals and sets to scripts. The members will also have opportunities to go and see local, as well as, Broadway shows in Chicago and put on many wonderful productions”.
Members of the Dusty Rhode Boys and Girls Club will be accepting donations for their Drama Matters After School program at the Memorial Opera House’s production of Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST which opens this weekend.
Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST is the classic story of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped in a spell placed by an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed to his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.
