The region’s largest local retail grocery chain is currently offering some of the premier craft beers in Northwest Indiana. Strack & Van Til has recently united with St. John Malt Brothers Craft Brewers and are now providing several premium microbrews at their St. John and Schererville locations.
“Above all, we are here to serve the community. It’s a role the people working at each store take very seriously,” said Matt Dominguez, Store Director at Strack & Van Til’s St. John location, “and a big part of that is making sure our community thrives, and in doing so, we believe that putting locally sourced items on our shelves is extremely important to the community’s growth and success. By partnering with local producers like the Malt Brothers, it allows us to better connect with our neighborhood.”
St. John Malt Brothers Craft Brewers opened their facility in February of 2015 and has grown into one of the region’s most popular new breweries and typically have more than 15 craft beers available on tap in their tasting room located at 9607 Wicker Avenue in St. John, Indiana.
St. John Malt Brothers president James Estry is excited to become part of the Strack & Van Til family.
“Getting our products into these stores is a big step for us,” he said, “we have always been tremendously confident in the high quality of the beers that we produce, and having a major local retailer like Strack & Van Til recognize us is a great feeling.”
Estry believes the microbrewery’s success depends on two key factors: consistency and diversity.
“Even though we’ve only been in business for less than two years, we have spent a lot of time refining our brewing process and have had consistent success with beers like our Citra IPA, Hesperidium, and our American Honey Pale Ale, Belmageddon, as well as other customer favorites like Mr. Coconut Head coconut porter,” Estry added.
Malt Brothers’ beers are available in 16 ounce cans and 22 ounce bottles and hit Strack & Van Til shelves last Friday, December 2.
