Portage Townshp SummerFest Packed Full of Renowned Entertainment
The first annual Portage Township SummerFest took place this year, featuring two days of nationally and regionally renowned main stage entertainment!
The Wedding Singer Hits PHS Stage
The PHS spring musical for 2012 was The Wedding Singer, with a cast of 46 students. The show was based off of the popular movie, a love story between a wedding singer and a waitress at the reception hall where the singer regularly performs.
2012 Nativity Fest Attracts All Ages
There is one weekend during the summer where there is a single event that appeals to people of all ages and backgrounds in the city of Portage: Nativity Fest.
Portage YMCA Hosts First Pee Wee Prom
The Portage YMCA held their first ever Pee Wee Prom on March 3. 80 couples attended, boys with their mothers and girls with their fathers for a special night out.
Fiesta Folklorico 2012 Set for March 10
The Ballet FolkloricoTapatio of NWI brought a night of costumes, ringing music, and festive dancing to Portage in March.
PHS Concert Benefits Henryville
Portage High School did its part to aid the victims of the tornadoes in Henryville, Indiana by putting on a Henryville Benefit Concert. Many different PHS students donated their time on a beautiful afternoon in order to help the cause.
Portage Kiwanis Club Hosts Easter Festivities at Woodland Park
Hundreds of eager children and their parents turned out for breakfast with the Easter Bunny and an Easter egg hunt at Woodland Park. Pancakes and games rounded out this annual event.
Portage Parks Hosts Biggest Daddy Daughter Dance Yet
The Portage Parks Department also hosted a dance for wee ones, with their annual Daddy/Daughter Dance in February. Dads brought their daughters, dressed up, to eat, get flowers, and dance!

Beatles at the Barn 2012 "Here Comes the Sun"
Springtime brought the Beatles to County Line Orchard, in this annual concert event. Musical entertainment for the evening included Chris & Lou, The Crawpuppies, and The MEGABEATLES.
