On Thursday night, Team Chevrolet of Valparaiso hosted their 4th Annual Girls Night Out for the women of Northwest Indiana looking for a fun night full of good food, wine, shopping, and, of course, fundraising for great cause.
The annual event welcomes women from all over the region to Team Chevrolet, located on Route 30 in Valparaiso, as a way for women to take a night off and enjoy what Team Chevrolet and vendors from all over Northwest Indiana have to offer.
“This is our 4th annual Girls Night Out and it’s a great event to show support for women in the community,” said David Brubaker, General Manager of Team Chevrolet. “It’s a great night for ladies to come out and have a nice evening, do a little shopping, have a glass of wine, and unwind for a little bit.”
The event brings in 20 vendors from a variety of trades all around Northwest Indiana to showcase different products and services, like jewelry, clothing, food, and even self-defense. While Team Chevrolet wants to provide a fun night for women to kick back and relax, the main goal of the annual event continues to show the dealership’s dedication in helping the community.
“Tonight is a fundraising event for American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life, which is a non-profit Team Chevrolet supports,” Brubaker said. “We donate $2,500 to the organization every year and we use tonight as a fundraiser to bring awareness to the American Cancer Society and all that they do.”
As the party began, women of all ages mingled with friends and strangers, ate delicious food provided by the dealership, enjoyed a wine tasting from Running Vines Winery, put their names for the raffle to win some incredible prizes, and crowded around the photo booth with goofy hats and props. They then made their way to what is on most days a service garage for Team Chevrolet’s vehicles, but was converted Thursday night to a mini showroom full of vendors for women to enjoy.
Deb Stojak, a stylist for Stella & Dot, loves the opportunity to show women not only the gorgeous necklaces, bracelets, and rings the company makes, but also what Stella & Dot does in the community.
“One of the reasons I really like Stella & Dot is because it’s a very women-focused company,” Stojak said. “We donate to organizations like Every Mother Counts, so for every bracelet sold, we donate that money to the organization. And not only that, we also donate to the HollyRod Foundation for people with autism. So coming to events like this one is really important because I really enjoy spreading the word of what we do.”
And as women walked from booth to booth, they were content in knowing that not only did they have a fun night out, but also that they participated in a fundraiser that will benefit people in need.
“This is my first year coming here and I’m just really excited for the experience,” said Jean Kohler of Chesterton. “Plus, it brings women together to a great place for a great night. And fundraising is such a valuable asset, so I’m just really excited to be here.”
The success of Team Chevrolet of Valparaiso’s 4th Annual Girls Night Out was two-fold: women from all around Northwest Indiana came out for a good time and raised money for an important cause that impacts the lives of people all around the country, solidifying Team Chevrolet’s role as more than just a car dealership in the Northwest Indiana community.
“We’ve done food drives, participated in Meals On Wheels programs, and we’ve done so much more in the community, so it’s definitely one of our passions,” said Traci Brubaker, the Sales Consultant & Customer Experience Manager. “We want to participate in the community and let people know that Team Chevrolet is here for them.”
