Fireworks Display Returns to 2015 Touch of Dutch Festival

NIPSCO-Demotte-donation-2015DeMotte’s Touch of Dutch Festival will light up the night sky this year with the return of their fireworks display, courtesy of a generous donation by NIPSCO.

“We’re grateful that the town of DeMotte provided the fireworks in the past when they could,” stated Rish. “As we continue to grow the Touch of Dutch Festival, we are very excited to develop community partnerships. On behalf of the whole community, we’d like to thank NIPSCO for coming on board and sponsoring the fireworks for the festival this year.”

Erin Whitehead, public affairs manager for NIPSCO, explained that NIPSCO saw supporting the Touch of Dutch Festival as an opportunity to provide something for the community that was missed last year.

“We want everyone to know that NIPSCO is proud to be in the community,” said Whitehead. “We are a huge part of the community. We want to be there, we want to be involved.”

The Touch of Dutch Festival, hosted at Spencer Park, will be extended to a two-day event, and will be open to attendees from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 7; and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8. In addition to the annual Rotary Ramble 5K walk & run, parade, and food and craft vendors, attendees will be able to enjoy free live music entertainment both days of the festival. The festival committee is also working on other additions to the event.
