Indiana Author and Portage Native to Attend 2015 Spring Jewelry & Craft Show in Portage

Portage-Community-Historical-SocietyAuthor Carrie Beckort, an Indiana resident and Portage native, is scheduled to attend the 2015 Spring Jewelry & Craft Show on Sunday April 26, 2015 from 10am - 4pm at Woodland Park in the Oakwood Hall. Beckort will be selling and signing books at the event.

Beckort is the author of three published novels: Kingston’s Project, Kingston’s Promise, and Shattered Angel. All three novels will be available for purchase at the event, or readers can bring their own copy to have signed.

Kingston’s Project is the story of Sarah Mitchell, who suffers from significant loss. Readers follow Sarah’s journey, as she tries to recover from her grief with the help of Elijah Kingston. Elijah hires Sarah to manage a confidential project—one that could send her deeper into despair. Kingston’s Project is a poignant story about the effects of grief and the loss of hope.

Kingston’s Promise is the sequel to Kingston’s Project, told through the point of view of Elijah’s son. Marcus Kingston has made an important promise, however life—and the effects of his father’s secret—makes it difficult for him to keep that promise. Kingston’s

Promise is a story about trusting those you love, and forgiving yourself of past mistakes.

Shattered Angel, Beckort’s latest suspense novel, launched on March 2, 2015. It is an emotionally charged story about Angel, who was sold by her mother before she turned eight. For more than ten years, Angel was held captive, beaten and tortured. She found the strength to survive through the one person who cared about her. She eventually escaped, only to be captured again by the man who purchased her long ago. He’s given her a choice—life with him or death. Angel only has twenty-four hours to decide. Shattered Angel has been described as riveting, harrowing, and intense.

Carrie Beckort spent seventeen years working for Cummins before she published her first novel. She currently resides in Columbus, Indiana with her husband and daughter. She was a 2014 recipient of a B.R.A.G. Medallion from indieBRAG for Kingston’s Project.
