Duneland Festival of Trees is Something New this Holiday Season

Festival-of-Trees-flyerThe Duneland Festival of Trees is a new community festival celebrating the 'Community Spirit" of the Duneland area. Trees, provided by Chesterton Feed & Garden Center will be adopted and decorated by community groups, businesses and organizations. The trees will then be on display at the Duneland Unit of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County at 521 W 1100N from Dec. 11th through the New Year.

Sponsored by Chesterton-Duneland Kiwanis, the Duneland Unit of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County and the Do Good Works foundation, the festival will consist of a tree lighting ceremony on Dec 11th as well as activities such as a Christmas Craft Corner at the Duneland Club on Dec. 13, Christmas caroling and a Winter Wonderland for Kids including lunch with Santa.

"We are looking forward to this festival becoming a big part of our community" said Suzanne Philbrick, a Kiwanian, founder of the non-profit Do Good Works and Co-Chairperson for the Duneland Festival of Trees. "There are so many businesses, organizations and groups that do wonderful things in this area and we want to celebrate them and what they are doing for the Duneland Community."
