Green Screen, Beer Garden at Party in the Park Aug. 17

logoMore than 800 Duneland area residents and visitors are expected to attend the 8th Annual Party in the Park event to be held this Saturday, August 17, from 5pm-9pm in Thomas Centennial Park in the heart of historic downtown Chesterton. Tickets are currently on pre-sale at the Duneland Chamber of Commerce office, located at 220 Broadway in Chesterton. Adult tickets are $5 per person, and children 7 years of age and under will be admitted to the event free of charge. Tickets may also be purchased the evening of August 17 at the event ticket booth, which will be located behind the fountain within Thomas Centennial Park.

Party in the Park will feature a community potluck dinner, in which ticket holders can sample special dishes prepared by more than a dozen different Duneland area restaurants. A beer garden will be hosted by Leroy’s “Hotstuff” Mexican Restaurant, while 27 Entertainment will bring the party to life with a top-tier professional DJ. A free green screen and photo booth will be offered by Impact Solutions – giving guests the chance to commemorate their time at Duneland’s 2013 back-to-school bash.

James O’Connor Martial Arts and Fitness will be giving live demonstrations from 6pm-6:30pm, and Road to Life Church will be hosting KidTown USA – a mini-village full of bounce houses, games and a bubble tent. Additional children’s games and activities will be provided by local non-profit and Chamber member organizations, including face-painting, bean bag tosses, coloring activities, and more.
