The 4th Annual Chamber Chili Challenge & Homecoming Tailgate Party will be held on Friday, Sept. 21 from 3 pm to 6 pm in the Chesterton/Duneland Chamber of Commerce parking lot, located at 220 Broadway in downtown Chesterton.
Held just prior to the CHS Homecoming Parade, the Chamber’s Chili Challenge will enable local businesses and restaurants to compete for the honor of making Duneland’s best chili. Public tasting/judging will be available from 3 pm to 6 pm, or as long as the chili lasts. Admission is $5 (children age 5 and under are free).
Representatives from 1st Source Bank will serve as the official taste testers for the “Most Unique” category, while the “People’s Choice” awards will be given to those who win the popular vote. Uncle Joe’s Bar & Grill will host a beer garden, which will remain open to those 21 and over until 6pm.
The Chamber invites all Duneland residents and visitors to attend this special event, as well as the CHS Homecoming Parade, which will step off at 4pm before pursuing its route along Broadway.
