Taste Buds Excited with Duneland Chamber Progressive Dinner

There are always so many restaurants in town that you may not have been to. Thanks to the Progressive Dinner, hosted by the Duneland Chamber of Commerce, participants got a taste of some great restaurants around Chesterton, all in one fun Tuesday night.

All of the the participants split up into three groups named: Spicy, Spicy, and Swanky. Each group rotated between the three restaurants of Rolling Stonebaker at Riley’s Railhouse, El Cantarito and Sand Creek Country Club, and then met back up at Waterbird Banquet Hall. They enjoyed appetizers, soup/salads, entrees, and dessert.

“As a Chamber, we are trying to get local businesses out there to the public. We have gotten multiple restaurants to join in on this Progressive Dinner. With this event, people can get a real taste of the area and different restaurants that are around. It’s a great way for our local restaurants to show people what they can do,” said Duneland Chamber Marking Director, Beth Luncsford.

Normally held in the winter and fall, the Chamber decided to try something new and put on one of their dinners during the summer. The dinner usually happens twice a year and is something to definitely look forward too.

“This event was a hit right from the get-go. Our community restaurants are really important for tourism, and it’s a fun place to gather for our Chamber events. We asked some of the restaurants in town if they would be interested in doing this and they loved the idea. We have had enough restaurants interested to continue to do this for three years,” said Duneland Chamber Executive Director, Maura Durham.

The guests for the event included Chamber members, local businesses, and anyone in the public who wanted to try out some great food. Riding in style, the guests moved to each restaurant by either a limo or party bus.

Brad Vereb, with Great White Graphics, was among one of the guests on Team Spicy. “My wife saw the event through the chamber and it sounded awesome. The drinks are great and the food is delicious!”

With the help of great food from local restaurants, the Duneland Chamber of Commerce threw another successful Progressive Dinner. Riding around Chesterton trying different dishes kept the guest entertained and their appetites satisfied.
