Award-Winning Peter Aglinskas Returns to Lubeznik Center for the Arts

Award-Winning-Peter-Aglinskas-Returns-to-Lubeznik-Center-for-the-ArtsFriday, May 4, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM (CDT) Lubeznik Center for the Arts (LCA) will again host musician Peter Aglinskas. A recipient of the Chicago Cultural Department's "Artists International" Award, Peter infuses his music with elements from the contemporary worlds of jazz, soul and rock, with technique firmly rooted in the classical music tradition. Enjoy Peter's sultry solo guitar stylings while you peruse the galleries. Admission is free and a cash bar and lite bites will be provided.

Discover two new exhibits in the NIPSCO Education Studios. Material Culture displays the varied media and methods of zines and self-published materials - including comic books, graphic novels, community & environmental activist projects, poetry and photography zines.

Also, Community Supported Art (CSA) Valpo presents a preview exhibit designed to give an overview of the style and work the current season’s artists create. CSA Valpo exhibiting artists include Briana Olivares, Chris Acton, Rachel Garastik, Nick Gloom, Laurel Izard and Jessica Haug.

Continuing to exhibit in our galleries is Birds & Bees. Ten artists share their personal interpretations and connections to birds or bees through drawing, printmaking, painting, sculpture, mixed media, installation and video. This exhibit celebrates these creatures while bringing awareness to their environmental plight.

Exhibiting artists include Aimée Beaubien, Kimberly Beck, Karen Bondarchuk, Ladislav Hanka, Kelly Heaton, Kristina Knowski, Lauren Levato Coyne, Laura Marie Panozzo, Stephanie Metz and Aimee Tomasek.
